A silver femme slunk along, carefully keeping check of the scents around her. Silvermoon knew she had to be careful that the Blood Moon wolves didn't find them. A large black male crept along behind her, also on the lookout. I hope Nina gets here soon, she thought quickly. Coming to an open meadow, she paused, scanning the grassy landscape. A herd of deer grazed there, oblivious to the near-by threat. Silvermoon turned her head to glance behind her. "Are we ready?" she whispered. It was time to steal some prey from the Blood Moon wolves.

Nina sharply nodded her head to reply to her leader's question. Without waiting for permission from her alpha, she leaned foreward into a position of stealth and began to craw; slowly to the other side of the deer. Someone needed to make sure the deer didn't run out of the clearing, before they noticed the wolves' presence. Nina knew that doing this without the alpha's permission was going to get her in trouble later, but Nina didn't care. she wanted to do this quickly, and tear through the flesh of a Blood Moon Pack deer. But Nina wouldn't go that far. She would let her alpha take down the deer, or whoever the alpha commanded. Nina paused every few steps, making sure it was safe to continue. Starting a a battle was not the point of this mission, it was to steal food. The pack needed it.

Silvermoon watched silently as Nina slipped away. She nodded to Midnight, and they separated, fanning out. The three wolves now formed a triangle around the deer. The Alpha scanned the herd and spotted an young buck with a limp. It must be a recent injury, for there was still plenty of flesh on the male. Catching the ebony wolf's eye, she jerked her head at the injured one. Midnight nodded, and moved forward with a quickening pace, Silvermoon mimicking him. The buck raised his head, but it was too late. Midnight raked his fangs over the muscled right flank, while the silver femme latched onto his shoulder. They were keeping it busy, but before Silvermoon could get the killing bite, she needed Nina to distract it the other side.

Nina watched silently as Slivermoon and Midnight ferociously attacked a hurt buck. Nina realized when she was needed and came in to scare the deer over to the other side. Right before the deer ran out of the clearing, Nina skidded in front of it. A steely smile crossed her face as she said, "Silly little deer, you're done for," Her muscles tensed, prepared to srike in case it tried for a getaway. "May I do the manners?" Nina's new metalic voice rang out, asking her leader if she could end this little buck's life.

Silvermoon hung on as the deer bucked, trying to dislodge the two wolves. Midnight sprang back, as the Alpha released it's shoulder. They backed away, cornering the buck. The femme waited, so Midnight did too. She flicked her ears, telling Nina to go in for the kill. Darting in, the bit the deer's side as it tried to slip past her. It backed away a pace, eyes rolling in panic.

Nina stared at the buck, and watched as her companions attacked it. Finally, Nina could wait no longer, and she jumped in to attack. She landed squarely onmto the buck's shoulders, surely breaking it's back. Nina looked at Silvermoon, wondering when she would murder the buck. Dragging this on this long was dangerous, it wasn't their territory. "Hurry, Silvermoon," she growled to her leader, not quite commanding but not being just a suggestion. Nina glanced nervously around, waiting for Sakura to creep out of the trees, leading her pack.

She had thought Nina had wanted to take the kill, but she was apparently waiting for her Alphess. Silvermoon sprang in, her teeth latching into the buck's throat. She brought it down, quickly taking it's life. Satisfied, she backed away, looking down at the kill. She raised her head then, looking with approval at Midnight and Nina. "Well done." Her sharp eyes quickly noticed another deer, this one hidden in the long grass near by. Approaching cautiously, the femme saw a yearling with a torn back leg. It bleated frantically as the wolf came into view, scrabbling to get away. Killing it with a swift bite, Silvermoon realized that a Blood Moon wolf had crippled it, but not managed to kill it. Their lose, our gain. Grabbing it, she dragged it over to the dead buck. "It's time to go home," she announced. "You two take the adult, and I'll take this one. It's small enough for one to drag."

Nina glanced over at Midnight, walking over toward the buck they had murdered. She prepared her muscles so they would bear the weight of the deer as well as her own weight, and sunk her teeth into the buck's flesh. Blood oozed into her mouth, warm and delicious. This would be a change from the pack's normal diet, as the buck was nice and plump. (I always wanted to use that word) The younger deer seemed to have plently of meat on it's bones as well. There would be plently of food for everyone tonight. Nina turned her head to Midnight, waiting for him to be ready to lift up the meat. This would be to heavy for her to pick up by herself.

The ebony wolf padded forward, lowering his maw to the buck. Ivory fangs sank into the warm flesh, and he gave it an experimental tug. Muscles rippled smoothly under his sleek pelt, and Midnight lifted the deer off the ground. Dragging it would be easier, but they didn't want to destroy the kill. Without Nina the job of getting it home would have taken ages, but now it could be accomplished more quickly. He padded forward, going back to their home territory. Silvermoon followed, easily carrying the younger deer.
